PrepScan

Available

PrepScan evaluates ecommerce storefronts for underwriting and policy problems — claims language, missing gates, geo issues, processor-risk signals — and produces actionable findings with matched evidence. It is a preparation scanner, not a lawyer and not a processor approval.

A consultant or agency can run URL → crawl → rule engine → scored report as a product, including agency/merchant portal surfaces in the paired ReadyState stack.

Build vs buy

The expensive pieces already exist: a large JSON rule corpus, live scan UX, scoring, underwriter-oriented reports, and portal routing. A buyer is not inventing a compliance engine from blog posts.

Differentiation

Vertical rule packs (including regulated-product categories) with matched-text evidence and a path into geo data used by the bans properties — not a generic SEO or accessibility crawler.

Best fit

Payment consultants, high-risk agencies, and operators who already sell compliance preparation.

Why it matters

Processors and platforms reject stores for things a careful human would have caught — if anyone had time. PrepScan is that first pass, encoded.

What it does

Operators submit a storefront URL. The engine fetches and evaluates pages against the rule corpus, then returns violations, scores, and report/action surfaces.

Operational advantage

High-risk merchants fail underwriting late. A repeatable scan with matched text is billable work that used to be a senior person reading the site by hand.

Interface advantage

Fast scan with terminal-style progress, prioritized fix queues, shareable results, and operator dashboards — the interface makes a dense rule pack usable.

What makes this different

Vertical rule packs (including regulated-product categories) with matched-text evidence and a path into geo data used by the bans properties — not a generic SEO or accessibility crawler.

Where this gets used

  • Pre-underwriting review before a processor application
  • Agency fleet scans across a merchant book
  • Remediation punch-list after a failed placement

Commercial paths

  • Per-scan or subscription SaaS
  • Agency white-label (portfolio of merchants)
  • Bundle with ReadyState Pro, bans-network geo data, and the KratomBans Woo plugin

Best buyer fit

Payment consultants, high-risk agencies, and operators who already sell compliance preparation.

Current status

Available for commercial source license or exclusive acquisition. Multiple engine generations exist; the deal should specify which tree transfers.

Notes

Rule-count marketing has changed across engine generations. Diligence should read the current rule pack rather than any historical “236” figure. Not legal advice; not a guarantee of processor approval.

Key capabilities

  • URL-based merchant-site compliance scanning
  • Large processor/regulatory rule corpus (hundreds of rules in engine source)
  • Matched-text findings and scored readiness
  • Operator dashboards, live scan progress, and report surfaces
