ReUp Local First
AvailableReUp Local First is the v2 architecture: custom tables, local sessions, P2P checkout, optional SendGrid payment webhooks for subscription activation, and Shippo hooks for rates/labels/tracking. It exists because v1’s remote API became the bottleneck.
A WP publisher or host can sell self-contained alternative-rail commerce without operating the old ReUp backend.

Why it matters
A commerce plugin that dies when `api.someoneelse.com` times out is not owned. Local First keeps the store on the merchant’s WordPress.
What it does
Install, register, add products, take P2P checkout locally. Optional webhook marks payment/subscription. Shipping class can quote and label via Shippo.
Operational advantage
Removes a hosting and latency dependency. The rewrite (tables, classes, templates, migration notes) is the accumulated cost.
Build vs buy
Do not start a “Woo-free P2P commerce plugin” from zero — this is that rewrite.
What makes this different
Explicit local-first successor to a backend-sync plugin — zero required remote ReUp API.
Where this gets used
- Merchants who want ReUp checkout without ReUp SaaS
- Hosts who cannot allow an external order API
Commercial paths
- GPL/commercial plugin tiers
- Managed WordPress offering
- Migration service from backend-dependent v1
Best buyer fit
WordPress-focused acquirers who want a self-contained commerce plugin and will configure email webhooks if they want automation.
Current status
Available. Distinct from ReUp Commerce Plugin v1.x. SendGrid/Shippo are optional integrations with setup cost.
Notes
Do not conflate with backend-dependent ReUp Commerce Plugin v1. Confirm which architecture the buyer wants.
